From the Lotus Lantern exhibit last month at Bongeunsa Temple:

In other news, this week I finished studying "level 1" Korean at my school. Because I'm not Asian, I totally sucked in class. Aside from the 12 hours a week of class time, they seemingly assume that you will devote at least another 12 outside of class to studying. And you've got Koreans who will help you. And no life, jobs, friends, etc. to get in the way. I'm not going back to that school next month as I'm going to re-study the material on my own, and hopefully with a language partner (I'm looking... any Koreans out there?). I'll find another school later on, although I understand that just about all of them assume you're Asian, and thus present the material 4x quicker than westerners can comprehend.
I'm know you've also noticed that my posts have slowed here. I've been shooting in RAW mode lately, which creates 8mb images that woefully tax my notebook computer. My desktop computer is in transit from America, and when it arrives I'll be back on track. Oh, and not having 12 hours of class a week (plus associated study time) will also help. This coming week is gonna be great!

This is a totally outstanding picture, Max. Please e-mail to me so that I can have it printed and then I'll frame it. Wow! It's a beauty worth hanging. Also glad to hear that you're no longer going to be completely absorbed with learning Korean. It seems to be that there must be an easier way of mastering this language. Knowing you, you'll find a better path to follow here.
Although I've never had the opportunity to study Korean formally, a few of my friends in Seoul have. Invariably, they have the same complaints as you about the classes. Still, I'm sure you got something out of it...
In other news, my desktop more-or-less stops working as soon as I start uploading RAW files. I'm currently thinking of upgrading for just that reason...
