(ya, I know the saturation is wayyyyy up there. But sometimes I like an image to just go *POP!*)
From the official Changdeokgung flier:
Changdeokgung was originally constructed in 1405 as a secondary palace of the Joseon Dynasty. After the Japanese invasion in 1592, it was rebuilt and served as the main palace for about 270 years.
Back in May I took advantage of the sole clear Spring day we had to visit several historical sites in Seoul. I've been slowly posting these photos over the past couple of months since they're all in RAW format which requires a bit more work. Namely, I needed to figure out a production strategy. After trying out Bibble, RawShooter, and Capture One--all top-of-the-line professional RAW workflow applications, I took a closer look at Photoshop CS2 and it's associated apps Camera Raw and Bridge. I almost always like to work on my photos in Photohshop, which meant with the other RAW workflow programs that I'd have to save the image from them, possibly as a HUGE tiff file to preserve detail, and them open it up again in Photoshop. But by using Adobe Camera RAW I'm able to cut-out the middle man and just transfer the image to Photoshop from Camera Raw.
Further, I've got my desktop computer from America now (no more sluggish notebook computer work) with a new 19" widescreen monitor. This setup makes photo processing a breeze! So, expect me to be a bit more prolific with my posts.
Anyway, the photo above is of the King's quarters, later used as a conference hall. Since this palace compound was the one that was last in use, there's interesting additions such as electric lights and modern furniture all around Changdeokgung. Unfortunately, you cannot tour the insides of the buildings and often cannot see much of the interior. That's the pity of touring these palaces in Seoul--the insides are always closed. I wish they'd get it together and recreate the insides in appropriate period-style and then open them up to the public. Can you imagine if Château de Versailles only let you see the outside?! No, you can't imagine? Well, it'd suck.
Finally, I'm taking off for my first trip to Japan on Saturday. I'll be flying into Osaka, but my main destination is the historic city of Kyoto. I might venture into some other areas during my six-day stay as well. One thing is certain, I'll have a lot of photos when I return!

as always, you take wonderful pictures, but that one is just amazing. And I don't think it's oversaturated at all - it definitely has just enough to get that POP you were looking for!
enjoy your visit to the land of the rising sun and bean paste. I'm always interested in what interests people when they come here, so I can't wait to see your pictures!
Very nice site 8)
Just for clarity sake.
Bibble lets you cut out the middle man as well...Bibble Pro includes a photoshop plugn that lets you file:open raw files deirectly in photoshop similar to ACR, but with all bibble neat tools.
